Upcoming changes to IRC

Scheduled changes to the IRC server will take place today. These changes have been made to ensure the 2PX marketplace for account and service selling has easier access to support.

That being said, the webchat will no longer have a default trivia chat room, but instead the 2PX support chat room #2PX.

Revamping the IRC experience there will be a few official chat rooms created. Don’t forget if you’re not familiar with IRC commands you can type /list (which will display the list of channels.)

List of chat rooms

  • #Trivia
  • #Envy
  • #2PX
  • #Help
The helproom #Help is used only for help on the IRC server. All 2PX related enquiries or support will be in #2PX.

It is important to adhere the rules which are set out to protect all members of the community.

Nickname Registrations

Registering a nickname on IRC is simple and takes less than a minute. When nicknames are registered you won’t be able to use it, so it’s best to get your nickname secured. To register, type:
/NickServ REGISTER <password> <email>

Channel registration

Although there are chat rooms listed above, you can of course register your own channel and invite your friends. To do this, type:
/ChanServ REGISTER <#channel> <description>

The trivia chat room will operate as normal with 24 hour non stop trivia for members who just feel a bit bored and what to test their knowledge on an array of subjects.

If any more changes are planned it will be mentioned in this thread.

Basic commands

/join <#channel> - Example /join #trivia
/nick <nickname> - Example /nick newchatname
